Not every commission begins with a gemstone.
In 2015, La Perla invited me to create a statement piece that would accompany its Winter runway collection—something undeniably feminine that would enhance the clothing without ever competing for attention.
Rather than precious gemstones, I chose an unexpected palette. Wide silk ribbon became the foundation, hand-woven with oversized faceted smoky Swarovski crystals that captured light with every movement while maintaining an effortless softness against the body.
The result was sensual rather than extravagant—a one-of-a-kind necklace designed to complement the collection, not overshadow it. Worn on the runway and featured in editorial print, it demonstrated that exceptional design is defined by intention, not by the value of its materials.
Created exclusively for La Perla, this piece remains unique and was never reproduced.
